Namaste Friend.....

Wait, don't we say that AFTER class? No way! Namaste is a greeting, and we're so excited to greet you.

Yoga is the broad term we use to describe the manner of exercise involving poses such as "Downward Facing Dog" and "Plank Pose", but did you know that it is MUCH bigger than that?

Asana, or posture, is what we're really practicing in classes in order to realign our bodies, get in touch with the physical world, and teach ourselves to overcome obstacles, motivate change, ignite compassion, but most importantly, the physical act of the Asanas is to show us and help us to be still so that we may connect in a deeper and more meaningful way with the divine.

Movement is for ALL bodies exactly where and how they are.

This practice can be as much or as little as you need it to be.

Start that practice here.

Our Story
Moksha Movement & Spiritual Practice Space was opened January of 2017 by Lauren Hellekson after returning home from abroad and wanting to bring spiritual and healing practices to her home town.
The location found it's permanent home in Historic Downtown Ravenna in September of 2018.
Our promise is to provide our community with a safe, inclusive, and welcoming atmosphere for all who are curious about the different spiritual practices, energetic modalities, methods of intentional movement, and deep connected community that we offer in our beautiful space

Lauren Hellekson

I started my journey with a small local Zumba studio in Ravenna back in 2015. Wanting to expand my skill set, I closed up shop and moved to Pittsburgh to surround myself with the industry and work closely with professionals in the business. Through advice, encouragement and an "eyes closed" click of a computer mouse, my thirst for healing, helping and guiding people soon brought me to India to study Yoga at Rishikesh Yog Peeth, in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

There I learned that it is SO much more than this "Fitness class" people rave about. Yoga is an all encompassing, spiritual lifestyle that I'm always growing, learning, and improving my personal approach and expression with.

Knowing that I needed to bring this powerful and healing practice home with me, I decided to come back to Ravenna and open up a shop that not only offered classes, but an opportunity for anyone to discover learn and experience the entire world of spiritual practices.

I'm more than excited to enrich my home town and her people.

"My personal journey with yoga has empowered me to help you to find peace, strength, quiet, and healing through physical movement. My classes connect your body to your breath, mindfulness and meditation, and create space for self-transformation.

I grew up with a physically active lifestyle in the northwest corner of Ohio, surrounded by the outdoors and country side, which grounded me deeply in nature. Yoga has helped me combine my love for physical wellness while staying rooted in the peace that the natural world brings to me.

My family and I live in Ravenna, and I am excited to share the practice of yoga with my community.  "

Join Liz on Thursdays at 6:15pm for Power Vinyasa and 7:30pm for Transition to Power!

She is also available for private Reiki sessions by appointment

"I started doing yoga many years ago while I was working as a Middle School Science Teacher. I found yoga helped counteract standing for hours on concrete floors as well as having Scoliosis in my spine. Yoga has been my antidote!

After retiring from teaching, I completed a Yoga Teacher Training Program, and truly loved learning more about the more spiritual aspects of the practice. My specialty during YTT was Back Care. I have completed additional training in Chair Yoga, and Meditation; and continue to take Continuing Education Courses.

My classes are a balance of strength and flexibility, breath and movement. I try to help students find their “edge”, and to honor their bodies through this practice."

I was first introduced to yoga over fifteen years ago while finishing my BFA in Dance Performance at Kent State University; I’ve been an athlete most of my life and yoga seemed an ideal complement to my training. Over the years, however, I’ve discovered that yoga is much more than that. I love the balance of movement and meditation yoga facilitates and, for me personally, it’s become invaluable, not only as a physical practice, but also as a means of chronic pain management and relaxation.

With my background in dance, my classes tend to focus on flow, breath and release. I’m currently an RYT 200 and I’m excited to share my passion for yoga with the community here at Moksha.
