Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Workshops!

Join us every third Sunday from May - October for detailed workshops to deepen your relationship with yoga. These workshops are designed to elevate, enlighten, and inspire your practice.

Each 4 hour workshop can either be for personal development, or count towards Yoga Alliance continuing education that is required for registered instructors.

**When purchasing your tickets, please choose Sunday Workshop tickets for personal development and Sunday YACEP ticket to receive a certificate and be approved through the YA for your credits. 

 

Come ready to learn, engage, and explore. Please bring a notebook, yoga mat, pillow, and blanket if you prefer along with water and snacks. The studio will provide light refreshments during each session as you will have a small break.

Our 2021 Lineup

May 16th 10am - 2pm - Pranayama & Meditation - To Practice and to Share

During this workshop, we will discover what pranayama is, how it is used, and approachable ways you can practice and teach others. We will also talk about how it relates to a meditative practice, uniting the two, and approachable ways to apply theories from both practices into your everyday life and classes. June 20th 10am - 2pm - The Chakras - Understanding, Application, Activation

During this workshop, we will dive deeply into our Chakras! Discover what they are, their uses, their meaning, and how you can activate them through practice and meditation. We'll apply simple techniques to experience working with our own chakras, and approachable ways to incorporate this knowledge into your classes (or your daily life and relationships). This course will count as 4 hours of continuing education credits towards Yoga Alliance affiliated instructors (*See ticket details above on how to participate and receive a certificate)

July 18th 10am - 2pm Putanjali's 8 Limbs of Yoga: The Yamas and Niyamas

In this workshop, we will meet Putanjali. The sage theorized to be responsible for the groundwork of the lifestyle and practice that is Yoga. We will focus on the Yamas and Niyamas of the practice, the field guide to how we should interact with ourselves and the world and how this relates to our own yoga practice. Move past the mat and discover how life looks to a "Yogi". This course will count as 4 hours of continuing education credits towards Yoga Alliance affiliated instructors (*See ticket details above on how to participate and receive a certificate)

August 22nd 10am - 2pm Class Content: Plan, Write, and Cue like a Pro!

This workshop is geared towards those looking to develop and strengthen their skills when it comes to writing class content. We talk format, timing, organization, and how to bring this into the studio without feeling attached to your notebook. You will learn cueing techniques, and approachable ways to enrich your students effectively and with a well rounded message. Our lead Instructor Lauren Hellekson is an E-RYT500 instructor with over 10 years of formal instruction, class organization, content creation, and public speaking experience. September 19th 10am - 2pm Beginner's Approach to Approaching Beginners

This workshop is perfect for new teachers who want to connect with their beginner level clients in a meaningful way that will encourage retention as well as provide a safe and inclusive practice for all. Our lead Instructor Lauren Hellekson is an E-RYT500 instructor with over 10 years of formal instruction with beginner level focus in the fitness community. This course will count as 4 hours of continuing education credits towards Yoga Alliance affiliated instructors (*See ticket details above on how to participate and receive a certificate)

October 17th 10am - 2pm Professional Development 

Business cards, website, Yoga Alliance, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...... Whoa. Just typing that was overwhelming! In this workshop we will break down how you can market yourself as a professional. What works, what doesn't, and all the tricks in between. Bring your laptop, tablet, or just a notebook for notes! This course will count as 4 hours of continuing education credits towards Yoga Alliance affiliated instructors (*See ticket details above on how to participate and receive a certificate)
